Hello!

I’m Matt, an American living in Tokyo since 2022. Born in Florida, studied Computer Engineering, and lived in California between 2017 and 2022. I started my career in the Bay Area and moved to Los Angeles at the end of 2018, where I made some great friends and learned the consequences of not wearing a helmet while biking.

what is this place?

I have recently discovered the joy of writing and shouting into the void that is the internet, so I decided to rent out my own space on the block just before the clock hit midnight on NYE 2024.

• A guitar noodler since age 12.
• A regular reader. It brings me deep satisfaction to expand my worldview and learn from others.
• Always moving. I’ve done all kinds of weight training, and have dabbled in bouldering, running, and so on.
• Interested in understanding human behavior and psychology.
• Journaling roughly every day. I believe self-reflection to be one of my strongest assets, developed through sheer repetition and fueled by curiosity.
• Happiest when I realize how I can unstick myself and work toward the things I want. This feeling is magnified when I’m able to help others do the same.
